This model law, known as the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act (UPHPA) was drafted by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws in 2010. It provides consistent default language to be introduced and enacted in state legislatures to remedy real estate partition issues encountered by heirs of family property and tenants-in-common.
