West Virginia Senate Bill 506 (2012)

Amends law relating to farmland protection boards; providing that the executive director of a regional development authority or designee to is to serve on a farmland protection board; and providing an exception to the term of appointment to a farmland protection board for the executive director of a county or regional development authority.

West Virginia House Bill 2683 (2012)

Providing for aged or disabled farmers to continue to receive the benefit of having their farm land appraised as farm property after they cease farming.

Vermont Senate Bill 179 (2012)

This bill proposes to amend the conservation easement statutes to permit modification of perpetual conservation easements. The bill establishes the criteria to be used to determine when an easement amendment would be allowed, creates a process for making that determination, and vests the holders of the easement with initial authority to make the determination.

Virginia House Bill 766 (2012)

Creates the Governor’s Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund. The bill establishes an economic development grant and loan program targeted specifically at agricultural and forestry operations. Virginia Senate Bill 403 (2012)

Increases the land preservation tax credit from 40 percent to 50 percent of the fair market value of the conveyance for working farmers, for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2013.
