AN ACT concerning Agriculture – University of Maryland Extension – Urban Farmer Assistance

This bill would require the University of Maryland Extension to hire an extension agent dedicated to urban farm production methods and crop management and an extension agent dedicated to urban farm and agribusiness management. The agents would perform research and provide education to urban farmers. The bill includes an annual $300,000 to hire the agents. This bill was approved by the Governor on April 21, 2022.
