Hawaii Comprehensive Land Use Planning Statutes

These statutes contain Hawaii’s state and local comprehensive planning laws.

Chapter 225M establishes the Office of Planning to develop a framework to guide the development of the state through a continuous process of comprehensive, long-range planning.

Chapter 226 sets out the Hawaii state plan for the future development of the state. It identifies statewide goals and policies for land development and the allocation of public resources and prescribes coordination between federal, state, and local plans.
