Maryland Senate Bill 229 (2022)

AN ACT concerning Environment — On—Farm Composting Facilities — Permit Exemption

This bill would exempt compost-producing farms from permit requirements if the farm uses less than 40,000 square feet of area for active food scrap composting, composts only certain materials (organic matter, manure, and is uncontaminated), and records certain information and retains the records for 3 years.
