Washington House Bill 1838 (2022)

Protecting, restoring, and maintaining habitat for salmon recovery.

This bill mandates that landowners implement riparian buffers along designated salmon corridors. It requires establishment of a statewide grant program to provide, among other things, cost sharing with landowners implementing riparian buffer and directs the Department of Fish and Wildlife to provide those in priority watersheds with grant funding for compliance with riparian zone requirements.
