Fremont County, Idaho published its comprehensive plan in 2008 to guide future land development. The policy statements in the plan are implemented in the Fremont County Development Code.
Policy 17 states the following:
“Protect Existing Farm Operations and Direct Development Away from Agricultural Lands.
It shall be the policy of Fremont County to recognize the economic importance of agriculture in the county by discouraging development that may conflict with existing farm operations and requiring future rural residents to acknowledge the right of neighboring agricultural operations to continue.”
