Town of Clarence Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan

The Town of Clarence Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan (April 2012) was prepared by the Town of Clarence with assistance from the American Farmland Trust. In accordance with the Town’s Master Plan 2015, it seeks to protect farmland and natural resources which are the foundation of the Town.

The plan outlines a wide range of strategies and mechanisms which could be used to preserve farmland. The plan was developed with the oversight from the Farmland Protection Committee, which consists of local farmers and residents, in addition to the Planning Department, American Farmland Trust and Western New York Land Conservancy. The plans recommendations and actions were developed with ongoing public participation in the form of public meetings, farmer/landowner meetings, and interviews.
