VHCB Conservation of Agricultural Lands Policy

This document features excerpts from a policy created by the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB) detailing the methods it uses to select agricultural lands for easements using funding priorities. One funding priority that will allow consideration is whether the proposed easement project facilitates a transfer to a new farm owner or operator.

The policy explains that if a project is also being proposed for federal funding under ACEP-ALE, this funding priority may be referenced as “furthering a state or local policy” for the purposes of selecting a land use category in an ACEP-ALE application.
