California Comprehensive Land Use Planning Statutes

These statutes set forth California’s requirements and guidelines for comprehensive planning at the state and local levels.

The state’s Office of Planning and Research is tasked with developing a land use policy for California and assisting local governments with comprehensive planning, among other duties. Local planning and zoning requirements are also provided by statute.
