The Fremont County Comprehensive Plan stated the county’s policy priority to protect farms by directing development away from agricultural lands and ensuring that rural residents acknowledge the rights of neighboring agricultural operations. These ordinances implement these policies by, for example, requiring that permits for new residents adjacent to agricultural operations include a waiver of all common law nuisance claims caused by the existing agricultural operations.
