Idaho’s agricultural district enabling law allows local governments to enter into contracts with private landowners for the purpose of restricting specific parcels of land to agricultural use in exchange for protections against unreasonable local regulations, nuisance actions (if following generally recognized farming practices), and eminent domain. This act, called the Agricultural Protection Area Act, was signed into law in 2024.
