Farmland and Forest Solar Siting Land Use Scenarios

Increased pressure for solar siting on desirable open land compounds the current, severe “competition for land” in New England already due to real estate development pressure. This document illustrates alternative siting locations and land-use scenarios and the corresponding potential solar capacity. These scenarios are not recommendations. Instead, they present several siting methods and locations that can be used towards meeting the states’ clean energy goals.
