The Economic and Fiscal Impacts of Agritourism in Virginia

This study offers a comprehensive assessment of the fiscal and economic impacts of Virginia’s agritourism sector, both regionally and statewide. Using farm business and consumer surveys, the report finds that the total economic activity stimulated by Virginia’s agritourism sector during 2015 was approximately $2.2 billion, $1.5 billion of which was spent in-state. 17% of this in-state revenue was spent at the agritourism venues themselves.
