Additional Programs to Support the Next Generation of Farmers in Virginia

With more than 40 percent of Virginia’s farmers aged 65 and older, transitioning land to the next generation is important to the future of agriculture in the Commonwealth. A handful of programs—some of which exist in Virginia, and some of which are used in other states—can help support both aspiring and retiring farmers.
