American Farmland Trust’s Land Transfer Training is designed for practitioners to help farmers or ranchers and agricultural landowners plan for a farm or ranch transition.
Identify Business and Legal Tools is the third of five modules in the training. It introduces the main tools used in planning a transfer. It will focus on key legal and financial tools to help land seekers and landowners succeed. Participants will explore the types of plans needed for their situation to support their transfer process.
Each module includes materials for practitioners – a teaching plan, student learning plan and a PowerPoint presentation with presenter notes. Modules also include learning materials that practitioners can share with farmers or ranchers and landowners. These include information sheets, activity worksheets, assessment documents and resource lists.
