American Farmland Trust’s Land Transfer Training is designed for practitioners to help farmers or ranchers and agricultural landowners plan for a farm or ranch transition.
Prepare to Negotiate is the fifth of five modules in the training. IT prepares participants for the types of conversations they will have during a transfer negotiation. Participants will plan to negotiate, practice communication skills to reach agreement and prepare to manage stress.
Each module includes materials for practitioners – a teaching plan, student learning plan and a PowerPoint presentation with presenter notes. Modules also include learning materials that practitioners can share with farmers or ranchers and landowners.
